Tacara's Intrepid Image CDX, OA, AD 2-6-89 to 11-3-03 In a way it seems like just yesterday that I brought home my long awaited fuzzy little Terv puppy, who hid her head under my arm on that drive from OK City to Houston. In a way it seems that I've had her for almost my whole life- she's been with me through 2 divorces, several moves & has helped raise 6 children. So many memories- she loved the show ring & quickly got 13 points (before I had her spayed)- she used to rip people's pockets out to get to the bait. She loved agility & as a young dog used to race around creating her own course. She taught me so much as we learned agility together- she got her AD way back in the days when it took just one clean run & was at the 1st AKC agility trial & at the 1st AKC national agility. She never was a top winning dog- probably mainly because of her clutzy handler, but she loved agility & did her best at it. Just last week she went over a teeter in the yard. She loved all people & babies of all kinds (except cats) & was always so gentle to any baby- person or dog. She had so many quirky funny things she'd do- I remember her making a mud hole in the yard & running for it then sliding through on her stomach like a kid with a slip and slide. She used to watch to see if anyone was looking & could jump flatfooted up on the kitchen counter to eat anything that was there. She was always good about letting even the youngest child walk her....unless she spotted a squirrel or cat. I'll never forget the sight of Andrew at age 3 walking her , her spotting a squirrel & Andrew flying thru the air just like in a cartoon. The past week Image has seemed disoriented & in pain when she walked & has fallen several times this week & the other dogs keep attacking her. It was a hard decision to have her put to sleep today & we were fortunate to have our very kind & compassionate vet do it with us there petting her as she went. We'll miss you Image.
