AMG LEVI BLUE SUNDOWNER AOC, CGC, CD, HCT, AAD, MX
(and just one standard leg short of MAD!)

6/15/90 - 2/5/99

Levi MX & Teresa King in Tulsa, OK. 5/4/97. Levi was the 1st Australian Cattle Dog to earn the AKC Masters Agility Excellent (MX) title.

Levi was born June 15, 1990. I wanted a dog of my own, not having had one since I was in grade school. Everyone thought a Cattle dog was going to be too tough as an apartment dog. But Levi was different from the beginning. He was horribly sick at first, so much so that I considered euthanasia. When I bought him, I had pick of the litter.....so much for picking the healthiest! But I was told that God made me pick this little puppy, and if he could be saved he should be; that he would make it up to me someday. And did he ever! Everyone has heard me say that Levi was a once-in-a-lifetime dog. I know that I will never again have such a privilege. While I love all my dogs, it just isn't the same. Levi never even contemplated NOT giving me 100% in everything I asked of him. I'm sure that I took it for granted a lot more than I thanked him for it. He was outstanding at agility, obedience, police k9 work, puppy raising, and yes, even herding (what little he was allowed to do!) When it came time to say goodbye, I was lucky enough to know ahead of time; I had 6 months of special quality time with him. I made him a promise, that he wouldn't have one bad day on this earth before I said goodbye. And he lived up to his reputation, always giving me more than I ever gave him, and helped me raise Hondo (my new cattle dog puppy) until February 5, 1999. Levi, thanks for introducing me to dog sports of all kinds, being so good at judging people, keeping me out of trouble, and guarding me in my sleep. For all the proud moments, and just the quiet time at home too. Goodbye, for now.
