. Max & Linda Chapler
MAX AND I got together when he was 7 weeks old at nine
months we tried Flyball but that was so noisy but while learning
that we discovered Agility and that was that it was obsession from the start He
has been Top AKC Agility Chihuahua for 3 years 2000-2003 It has
taken us just about 4 years from the start to get our Mach which we got on
January 12 2004at the Puyallup Valley Dog Fanciers Trial. We where the
last team to run at a 4 day trial and the stands still had a lot of people left
to see the little Chihuahua do it. That was the most wonderful feeling. Linda

Max is a pretty active chi I am a gardener for 4 big gardens in Seattle So Max and his papillion sister known as "SILLYDOG" are my helpers they take care of the frisbe while I try to weed They also take care of the bigger game such as cats squirrels and rabbits a big help here..We also live close to Lake Washington Max love to swim after the ball we have to use one of the small one so he can get his mouth around it in the water. Did I tell you Max is 9 3/4 inches tall which puts him jumping 8" in agility He is also weighs in at 8 lbs so he is a nice size chi kinda sturdy Max is 7 years old and we’ve done agility for 5 years We’ve had so many fun times out there and if I’m not in a good mood Max doesn’t run well so we’ve got to always have it fun One hot summer I got Max wet and he stopped in the weaves to shake I called him a little booger and the judge blew us off I asked why and she said I called my dog a booger I said I always called him a little booger and where was she from she replyed Australia I guess booger is a nasty word down under Another time that every one really laughed a Max A friend offered to run Max on the jww coarse when I hurt my foot Max jumped the first jump and the put his ears back tucked his tail and made a bee line past the judge who said " that won’t work " and landed in My arms all in a flash Nobody had ever seen the little guy run like that He told me right off he wasn’t running for any one else There have been times when Max has made up his own coarse to finish over the correct finish line then celebrate as if that was how that run was suppose to be run Or when he does the weave poles a 2nd time and not back to back he just goes and do se them again if we go near them then stops and looks at my and then comes back to help me with my part of the coarse. Kay Jackson I think you know her she is from Texas and won the 2002 8" class at the nationals with Sam her corgi Kay and I met in my first days of competing I use4 to do yard work in exchange for lessons at her place She really helped me out in those awkward first times we miss her but we still do phone lessons Max and I are going to go for a second Mach We’re still young enough and Unlike when we first started we can now do trials every month and sometimes 2 or 3 So Max and I are going to be out there for some time to come as long as he stays healthy and he likes doing it Max loves kids he just cuddles up right next to them And any lap is fair game we were walking through a hotel lobby last summer and jumped in some total strangers lap what a shock to the lap owner When we started our first agility lessons ever the owner instuctor of the place we will not name asked me what I thought I was going to do with a chihuahua Well just look What I’ve done with this chi He has been Top Chihuahua 2001-2003 He was they firs chi to get a MACH . He got that Mach on the very last run on the last day of a 3 day trial and there were so many people that stayed just to watch him get his Mach The whole place got so noisy and Max knew all that noise was for something HE did he was so excited I’ll never forget that day
