Peppermint Patty of Daval
March 7, 1991 to March 18, 2005

It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I share the news about one
of our beloved agility dog friends.  Peppermint Patty succumbed to kidney
disease today and was gently let go by her companion, Bob Hoselton.

I feel the need to share some history with those of you who are new to the
sport of agility.  For those of us who remember Ella and Patty in  their
heyday, no words are needed.

Ella Hoselton, one of our beloved agility pioneers and champions, passed
away October 27, 2003 from cancer.  She was survived by her dearly beloved  sable
Shelties, Patty and Penny, along with her devoted husband,  Bob.

Ella and Patty were a force to be reckoned with in Southern California,  they
were at the top of the agility game from 1994 until Ella become ill from
cancer in late 2002.  They dominated the 16" classes in AKC, USDAA, NADAC  and
ASCA.

Patty was quite the Sheltie.  She had speed and determination yet  always
seemed calm just like Ella.  She ran with an unparalleled joy in her  step.  Her
prance always brought a smile to onlookers, a real crowd  pleaser.

Patty was always the dog to beat, if you could get close to Patty's times,
you had yourself quite a dog.  Ella always took her victories with class  and
dignity.  They were the team to look up to.  Watching Patty  negotiate a course
at blistering speed while Ella gently commanded her was a  beautiful sight.
Just like everybody knows, when things go bad, they  would go really bad.
Patty would bark and spin in circles telling Ella off  over and over.  Ella would
keep her cool and just finish the course with a  smile.  Many agility
handlers throughout the country can say that Ella and  Patty taught them a thing or
two about agility.

Patty achieved many titles, she was known as MACH Peppermint Patty of Daval
NATCH ATCH ADCH CGC   She was fourteen years old on March 7,  2005

Patty made it to the finals of the Purina Incredible Dog Challenge 4 times,
winning the small division twice.  She won the 18" Division in the 1998  USDAA
Nationals.  Ella and Patty have been on numerous agility shows and  magazine
interviews.

Her accomplishments are too numerous to note, but the sheer fact that she
played in agility is what made her so special.  She was the other half to  Ella,
when you talked of Ella you had to talk of Patty.  They were a  special team,
they played the game so well.

So goodnight, dear Patty, I hope you find your dear Ella in heaven and you
start agility up there.  Bad thing is that yet again, you will be better  than
all of us when we get there.  But we know that you will be happy to  show us
the ropes when we meet again.

Thank you Patty and Ella.  You helped shape and drive the force  that became
my buddy Turbo.  Without you both, we might not have achieved  all that we
have.  Your guidance and friendship and the sheer fact that we  wanted to beat
you, helped us to become a great team.

We miss you both greatly.  Thank you from all of us for all that you  brought
to agility in the United States.
