NOVEMBER 1991 ~ AUGUST 1999

At 12 weeks of age, Quigs came flying out of his crate from an airplane flight and never stopped enjoying life and people. He was my first Australian Cattle Dog and people kept warning me of how bad the breed’s temperament was. Quigley never had a mean bone in his body. He started out to be a conformation dog and in the brief time he was shown, he picked up a 5 point major and some minor points. Unfortunately – he forgot to stop growing and went over size. But that didn’t stop us from applying all his energy in other venues. He enjoyed obedience until he discovered herding and agility. After that, obedience took a back seat to the rest, although he took all firsts to finish his CDX. He was first place in points for Cattle Dogs in Novice Agility for 1998 and placed in the ribbons for his herding titles.

We were always aware that Quigs had a heart problem. It was congenital and we decided to let him live his life the way he wanted. And his idea of fun was NOT to lie around on the couch. He wanted to be doing things, so we did.

Quigs – My time with you was too short.

You will always be in my heart.
