Judy Davis, a charter member of CATS in Keene, NH, wanted to let people (especially the old-time agility folks) know that her Maltese,
Tyger, died of an apparent heart attack last week at age 15 1/2. He was born on September 21, 1987 and reached the end of a long and
wonderful life on April 16. He is mourned by Judy, her husband, Sid, and his 3 canine siblings Ruff, Putter and Hazard.
For those newer to agility... Tyger competed in Agility for many years starting in the late 1980's. He earned his USDAA Starters title
and competed at the Advanced level until he retired. In addition, he won the mini dog division of the USDAA Grand Prix of Dog Agility
Regional competition (in one of that tournament's earliest years), qualifying and getting expenses paid for the Nationals in Texas.
Tyger and Judy also had the distinction of being a member (along with Leslie Vassall & Pax, and Mary Lynn Marden & Maggie) of the USDAA DAM
(Dog Agility Masters) team that won the VERY first Team Tournament held at Fryeburg, Maine! They were honored several years ago for this
win at Fryeburg's 10th anniversary celebration.
Judy and Tyger also appeared on the mid 90's show "That's My Dog" --winning and coming home with a sofa which still sits in the Davis
living room!
Good-bye to Tyger. The Northeast has lost another Agility pioneer...
