Welcome to our hall of  U.S. Agility Pioneers.

At about the same time two men went to Crufts, observed a new dog sport, and returned home to start Agility in the U.S. Kenneth Tatsch, founder of the United States Dog Agility Association, and Bud Kramer, founder of the National Club of Dog Agility (now part of  UKC) each returned with different visions. Each has its avid supporters.

From 1985 until 1993 the only USA Agility Organizations were the National Club for Dog Agility and the United States Dog Agility Association. In 1993 the North American Dog Agility Council (NADAC) was formed and in 1994 the American Kennel Club (AKC) agility program was launched. The Australian Shepherd Club of America (ASCA) adopted NADAC and a dual titling program was born between the sister organizations. Since those early days the United States has also seen the additions of the Jack Russel Terrier Club of America (JRTCA), Canine Performance Events (CPE) and Teacup Dog Agility Association (TDAA). We here in the USA are lucky to have such a proliferation of agility organizations to participate in.

Recollections of the early days and photos of each exhibitor will be added as they are received. Any help anyone can provide in getting these stories is greatly appreciated. Check back for updates!
